Can head coach Steve Clarke steer Scotland beyond the group stage at a major finals for the first time?

European Championship 2024 draw

Venue: Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg Date: Saturday, 2 December Time: 17:00 GMT

Scotland go into Saturday evening's Euro 2024 draw in the third pot of seeds.

Host nation Germany are in the top pot, along with England and France.

There are a few surprises in pot two like Albania and Romania since the seeding is based on how well teams performed in qualifying rather than current rankings.

And that means defending champions Italy are lurking in pot four, which is where the three play-off winners will end up after their matches in March.

Who do you fancy facing next summer?

Sorry, we can't display this part of the article any more.

'Glamour game with hosts, avoid France, bring on England!'

We asked the same question the other day and here are a selection of your replies...

Ali: Best scenario: Belgium, Albania, winner play-off C (possibly Greece). Worst scenario: France, Denmark, Italy (though don't really fear anyone from Pot 2). Hoping for a kind draw but just delighted to be there. Steve Clarke's Tartan Army!!!

Chris: Germany from Pot 1 - Chance of the glamour opening game! From Pot 2, Albania, and then one of the play-off qualifiers, I would be more than confident of a first ever knockout stage with that draw.

Brian: England and any other two.

Andrew: I would prefer to avoid England, just because I feel the hype around that game last time took focus away from the other two matches.

Bobsy: Dream - Germany, Albania and a play-off winner (preferably Wales). To go head to head with Germany in their backyard would be good, considering the horrendous form they are in. Albania look the best of strong bunch, although it's worth remembering they are in pot 2 for a reason. Would like to see us go up against Wales to right some wrongs from our games with them in the past. Nightmare fuel - France, Denmark and Italy. 'Nuff said, really.

Malcolm: Portugal (they breezed through their qualifying group, but let's ne honest there wasn't any huge threats!) Albania (they're beatable, simple as that!) Greece (again they're certainly not formidable).

Ross: Pot 1: England... We are due them a bloody nose. Pot 2: I would take anyone here and fancy our chances Pot 4: it's a tough one but I don't want Italy. I'd have Wales if they make it.

Adam: You want to go through and I think the group that'll give you the best chance is Belgium, Albania and one of the play-off teams. Worst case scenario is France, Turkey and Italy, although Turkey could implode.

Wai Kei: England, Denmark and Italy would be tough but exciting. We're more likely to do worse in supposedly easier groups. Albania look to be a potential banana skin that we always lose or draw to.

Christopher: My nightmare group: France (avoid at all costs) Turkey, Italy. Easier group (nobody is easy) Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg if they get through... At the end of the day, I'd rather see us go toe to toe against the elite, but would love to go further in the competition also. As a proud Scot, I cant wait.

Greg: Germany in the opening game would be a great opportunity. Albania or Austria and Serbia to complete the group.

Terry: Would love to be drawn against Germany, Albania and Serbia or play-off C winner, No one I want to avoid, we're the Tartan Army! Bring them all on! Come on Scotland!

Mark: England, Scotland, Romania, Serbia would be a great group for the Scots. We could easily qualify from that group then possibly meet the likes of Denmark, which could be a easy win, but, knowing the Scots luck, we'll end up with a group of death.

Anon: It's an old clichè but there will be no easy games so I'd be happy to see us drawn against teams we haven't played before or not played in a while. Portugal, Albania and Greece or Poland.

Peter: As a typical happy go lucky Scotland fan, I'm just happy we've qualified! So, for me, it's basically where we play, not who we play, as we won't win it. Berlin is number one for me. Amazing offbeat city, but Hamburg and Frankfurt are great cities too. The atmosphere is what it's all about and if we get a result against anyone then it's a bonus!

Robert: Scotland can beat anyone on the day.
