Rodrigo Bentancur: Tottenham midfielder out with ankle injury
- Published
Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is expected to be out until February after tearing a ligament in his ankle.
Bentancur, 26, was replaced in the first half of the 2-1 defeat by Aston Villa after a foul by Matty Cash.
The Uruguayan was making his first Spurs start since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in February.
It is another injury blow for boss Ange Postecoglou, who was without nine first-team players for Sunday's game at Villa Park.
Tottenham are on a run of three successive Premier League defeats and face champions Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
