Liverpool v LASK: Jurgen Klopp confirms Alisson & Diogo Jota to miss LASK encounter

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and forward Diogo Jota face spells on the sidelines because of injury.

Both players were injured during Liverpool's 1-1 draw at Manchester City on Saturday.

Manager Jurgen Klopp says Alisson's injury is not as bad as first feared but he is still set to be out for about two weeks, while no timescale has yet been put on Jota's recovery.

"Both are out," said Klopp. "With Ali it's a bit lesser, so we have to see."

Portugal international Jota was forced off after 54 minutes at Etihad Stadium, while Alisson completed the game despite sustaining hamstring injury late on.

Asked about Alisson's injury not being as bad as first feared, Klopp added: "No, but bad enough. Bad enough.

"He will not play tomorrow [Thursday], not on Sunday, probably not the week after. Then it should be kind of OK.

"Diogo will take a little bit longer, we don't know exactly how long, but it's a bit more severe. We have to see."

The Reds host Austrian side LASK in the Europa League on Thursday before another home game against Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.

They then have trips to Sheffield United and Crystal Palace in the league and Union St-Gilloise in the Europa League over the next fortnight before welcoming Manchester United to Anfield on 17 December.
