Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman has been given a one-game touchline ban after being charged with misconduct by the Football Association.

Coleman was sent off at half-time during last week's 4-3 home defeat by Swindon, with his team trailing 2-0.

Assistant Jimmy Bell said: "John was annoyed at a couple of decisions by the referee and wasn't allowed to return."

The FA said Coleman admitted to improper language towards a match official and accepted the penalty.

Accrington went four down before three goals in added time made the final score 4-3 to the visitors in last week's defeat, which means they have lost four of their past five league games after a bright start to the season.

Stanley have slipped to ninth in League Two and the club was recently put up for sale by owner Andy Holt.

Holt cited "poor decisions and management" following relegation last season.

That has led to increased speculation about Coleman's future, with his contract expiring at the end of this campaign after nine years in charge.
