Hull City forward Jaden Philogene is to have a scan on medial knee ligament damage he sustained in the 2-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers.

The England Under-21 international has scored six goals in 14 league games since joining from Aston Villa.

"He's tweaked his medial in his knee," boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside.

"You're going to get injuries in a season and it's a really unfortunate one off a tackle."

He added: "We have to get him scanned. I can't give any time-frame on it and we'll work with what we've got on Wednesday."

Rosenior said centre back Alfie Jones will return to the squad for the midweek trip to the Riverside Stadium, when Hull will seek to regain the top six place they lost at the weekend.

The manager said he had decided Jones should be at the birth of his first child, the night before the QPR game.

Said Rosenior: "Alfie's missed the game for the best reason you could ask for - he's got a beautiful baby girl who was born last night, so my love and respect goes out to him and his partner.

"It's his first child and there are certain things in your life that you have regrets if you're not there and I fully backed Alfie and wanted him to be there for the birth of his child.

"Some things are bigger than football. Alfie is an outstanding professional and has been absolutely magnificent so far this season and will be right back ready to play on Wednesday.

"It was my decision, not because I didn't think this game was important. I have three children myself and I tell the players all the time that we're a family, and family is so important.

"You can't say that and then go against it at key moments in your life."
