Lincoln City have boosted their first-team set-up by appointing former Nottingham Forest midfielder Chris Cohen as assistant head coach.

The 36-year-old returns to the club after working with Tom Shaw during the latter's spell as interim head coach earlier in the season.

He was previously assistant to Nathan Jones at Luton Town and Southampton.

"We are really excited at the coaching team we have now assembled," said director of football Jez George.

Cohen and Shaw will both work alongside head coach Michael Skubala, who was appointed in November.

"Chris quickly built a strong relationship with the club, staff and players during Tom's period as interim head coach and earned the respect of everyone with his knowledge, drive, character and desire to improve players," added George.

"When Michael was appointed we agreed that we should take our time in finding the right person, and all along we knew that was Chris."

Lincoln were 11th in League One ahead of Saturday's game at Wycombe Wanderers.
