A number of English clubs consider Scottish football "very attractive" for potential further investment, according to Burnley chairman Alan Pace.

Pace was speaking to BBC Scotland after the Premier League club's owner struck a "talent and knowledge share" deal with the Premiership outfit.

He also admitted that ALK Capital would consider taking a stake in Dundee if rules over dual ownership were relaxed.

"We will see if it develops further," the American said.

"And, if the rules change, we are all for considering it. We're very aware that other clubs are looking at Scotland as an opportunity.

"We are very interested to see how the rules play out and what the feeling is. We wouldn't want to do anything that the fans and community didn't want."

Pace said that, until the Scottish FA relax those rules, his club's involvement with Dundee is purely on the basis of "knowledge share rather than running the club at this point".

"The chance to send players back and forth and work on coaching development together and some other aspects of talent development," he explained.

Burnley have already sent midfielder Dara Costelloe and full-back Owen Dodgson on loan to Dundee this month and Pace reckons more will follow.

"We have made a couple of attempts to sign folk from up in Scotland and not always to the success that we would like," he revealed.

So Pace hopes that Burnley might sign up-and-coming talent from Dundee in the future and also be better placed to scout players from other Scottish clubs through the Dens Park club.

Dundee chairman Tim Keyes told his website that his club "are incredibly excited to begin this partnership".

"Like ourselves, Burnley is a club that is deeply rooted within its community and which shares our ambitions," he said.

"Joining forces with a club of this stature is a real statement of intent and one which we hope will support our journey towards greater heights in the future."
