Northern Ireland defender Rebecca Holloway has re-joined Championship side Birmingham City after leaving Racing Louisville in the USA.

After two and a half years at Birmingham City, Holloway left the club in March 2022 to move to America.

The 28-year-old has 22 Northern Ireland caps and was in the squad for the Euro 2022 finals - the country's first major women's tournament.

"It feels good to be back," Holloway said.

"To be honest, it feels like I've never been away, but I know a lot has changed and obviously I'm excited to get going.

"Now coming back, I want to help the team as much as possible getting back into the WSL. They have already done so well this season and it's just now how can I come in and help."

Holloway, who opened up about her mental health struggles to BBC Sport in December, added: "I knew for me it was good to be part of a healthy, competitive environment and just feel valued. That was a big part in me wanting to come back."

Birmingham are fifth in the Championship, three points off leaders Charlton Athletic with a game in hand.
