Cash-strapped Reading have sold defender Nelson Abbey to Greek side Olympiakos for an undisclosed fee.
The England Under-20 international made 31 appearances for the Royals after coming through their academy.
The 20-year-old has captained Reading in League One this season, with his sale likely to help fund the club while the search for a new owner goes on.
Abbey had been linked with a move to Premier League side Luton earlier in the January transfer window.
Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis also owns Premier League club Nottingham Forest.
