Darren Moore: Huddersfield Town sack boss after three wins in 23 games

Huddersfield Town have sacked boss Darren Moore after just three wins in 23 matches in all competitions.
The 49-year-old, who led Sheffield Wednesday to promotion to the Championship last season, replaced Neil Warnock as Terriers boss in September.
However, they struggled for form throughout his short tenure and he leaves Town with the club winless in their past six in all competitions.
They are 21st in the second tier and three points above the relegation zone.
Owner Kevin Nagle told BBC Radio Leeds earlier this month that Moore was "not going anywhere" despite their lack of wins.
Sunday's draw with fellow strugglers QPR, in which they conceded a 95th-minute equaliser, was a third successive 1-1 draw and left them without a win since 26 December.
"We appointed Darren on the strength of his credentials as a manager, but it is now clear that this has not worked as we envisaged and hoped," he told the club website., external
"I believe that our current squad is capable of more, particularly on the back of the work we have carried out in this transfer window, and we're quickly moving to identify the right person to lead them through a crucial period of the season. We hope to make that managerial appointment soon."
Moore guided the Owls to promotion through the League One play-offs last season after they finished third, despite winning 96 points.
Despite that he left Wednesday the following month by mutual agreement after a disagreement with the club's owner Dejphon Chansiri.
Town chief executive Jake Edwards called Moore the "standout candidate" after an "extensive recruitment process" upon his appointment in September, after veteran Warnock left to allow them to make a "longer-term appointment".
Moore has not proven to be that appointment and the Terriers are now looking to bring in a fifth new boss since Carlos Corberan quit in July 2022.
"We're looking for our next appointment to have a big short-term impact, but also to fit with our longer-term strategy of building an attack-minded, progressive style of football over a number of seasons," Edwards said after Moore's dismissal.
'Three weeks a long time in football' - analysis
BBC Radio Leeds sports editor Jonathan Buchan
Three weeks is clearly a very long time in football… or something like that.
It was less than that time period ago when Huddersfield Town's American owner Kevin Nagle was live in our studios giving his full backing to Darren Moore. Today he has been sacked.
Twenty-three games in charge and just three wins is clearly the form of a relegation candidate, and Town are just that.
Sunday's 1-1 draw at fellow strugglers QPR was the last straw and, with Sheffield Wednesday next up, the hierarchy clearly want to see a new manager bounce.
We will now find out if they have a plan in place for a quick replacement, or if this sudden u-turn means a long recruitment process.
