Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt says defensive pair Ricardo Santos and Eoin Toal will both require a scan after playing through their EFL Trophy defeat by Blackpool with injury.

Santos, 28, was injured in Tuesday's warm up but played to half-time.

Toal has managed a long-term injury and played all 120 minutes at Blackpool but leaves Evatt with a defensive problem a day before transfer deadline day.

"It's his calf. We're not too sure of the extent," Evatt said of Santos.

Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester he continued: "What I will say is that it didn't get any worse and he did quite a lot in the first half.

"It didn't get any better either so all we can do is get an image of it and see what we're dealing with.

"Toaly is carrying an Achilles issue and managed to see the game through but until we get it on the screen we [again] don't know what we're dealing with."
