Newport County midfielder Nathan Wood has joined Cork City on loan for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old has scored once in 18 appearances - only three of which have been League Two starts - since joining the Exiles last summer.

But he will spend the rest of the campaign in the League of Ireland First Division, its second tier.

Wood, a Newport fan, joined the club from Cymru Premier side Penybont, signing a two-year deal.
