Nottingham Forest captain Joe Worrall has joined Turkish side Besiktas on loan for the rest of the season.

Besiktas, who are third in the Super Lig, have the option to make the deal permanent.

Worrall, 27, came through Forest's academy after joining in 2011 and he has gone on to make 226 appearances.

The defender helped the club secure promotion from the Championship in 2022 and played 30 times in Forest's first season back in the Premier League.

However, he has struggled for playing time this season and has featured only nine times.

"We wish Joe well for the rest of the campaign," Forest said in a statement.
