Burton Albion have signed former Fleetwood Town defender Toto Nsiala on a deal to the end of the season.
The 31-year-old left the Cod Army in November and has been training with the Brewers for the past two weeks.
Nsiala played 14 games for Fleetwood this season, including a 1-1 League One draw with Burton in September.
"We've got suspension and injury concerns at the moment - so the timing is probably perfect now to get him involved," said boss Martin Paterson.
"He's a leader and a proper centre-half. We believe in him; he's fit and he's ready to go."
Nsiala began his career in the youth ranks at Everton and his previous clubs also include Accrington, Grimsby, Hartlepool, Shrewsbury and Ipswich - playing in the Championship for the latter.
"My aim now is to play well, enjoy it, win football matches and help the club climb up the table," he told Burton's website., external
Burton are away to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
