Ian Foster's first league defeat in charge of Plymouth Argyle came after a "faultless" first half
Plymouth Argyle head coach Ian Foster said his players will "learn from their errors" after surrendering the lead in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Sunderland.
Plymouth went ahead after 40 minutes through Ryan Hardie in what Foster called a "faultless" first half.
However, in the space of 15 second-half minutes Pierre Ekwah, Jack Clarke, and Jobe Bellingham scored for the hosts.
The match was Foster's first Championship defeat since taking charge in January.
More than 1,200 Plymouth fans made the journey to the North East.
'Costly moment'
Speaking to BBC Radio Devon, Foster congratulated Sunderland on "a wonderful second half" but said his side had room for improvement.
"We've got to take our medicine and learn from individual and collective errors we made in the second half," he said.
"In terms of the first 45 minutes we were probably almost faultless, but we have to continue it for the second."
On Sunderland's second goal and whether having Adam Forshaw off the pitch receiving treatment was partially to blame, Foster said the moment had proved "costly".
"My understanding is that a player's got to spend 30 seconds off the pitch, which he did, and they wouldn't allow him back on," he added.
"I was told the fourth official must get a signal off the referee to allow him back on, which he does straight after Sunderland scored, which is disappointing."
Speaking about the upcoming fixtures against Coventry, Leeds, West Bromwhich Albion and Middleborough, Foster said: "We'll be 100% ready and will embrace the challenge.
"The players and staff who were here last season have earned the right to have those games, and we look forward to them."
