Bristol City forward Sam Bell will miss the rest of the season with a severe hamstring injury.

The 21-year-old has played 33 games for the Robins this campaign, scoring five goals.

He went off after 26 minutes of Saturday's 1-0 defeat by QPR.

"He's picked up a really bad hamstring injury, he's going to be out for the rest of the season unfortunately and he's going to require surgery," Robins manager Liam Manning said.

Bristol-born Bell has been part of the club since the age of 12 and has been a regular starter this season, mostly as an attacking winger.
