Exeter City forward Millenic Alli will become a "fans' favourite" at the club, according to boss Gary Caldwell.

The 24-year-old joined from National League side Halifax late last month.

An injury sustained while at Halifax means Alli has yet to make his debut, although he is back in training.

"What I don't want to do is rush him and put him out on the pitch when he's not 100% fit and not had that time with the players on the grass to understand his team-mates," Caldwell said.

Alli scored seven goals in 21 National League appearances for the Shaymen this season having come up through non-league football.

He was part of the Halifax side which won the FA Trophy last season.

"He is fit, we just don't want to push him out there too soon and affect his start at this football club," Caldwell added to BBC Radio Devon.

"He's another one that's going to be here for a long time and be a real fans' favourite once he does get playing."
