John Doolan: Accrington Stanley fans urged to 'back the team' amid frustrations

Accrington Stanley interim boss John Doolan has urged fans to put frustration at John Coleman and Jimmy Bell's departure aside and back the team in Saturday's visit of Bradford.
Stanley are without a win in four, a run which led to the duo losing their jobs at the Wham Stadium.
While former player Doolan was a close ally of the pair, he wants positivity from the terraces to improve the form.
"Just come and support the team," Doolan told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"I know people see the big change that's gone on [following John Coleman and Jimmy Bell's sacking], but it's their club.
"I just want fans to get behind the team. I want them to be passionate, To drive the team forward."
While Accrington are a healthy 19 points above the bottom two, the failure to launch a return to League One this season is seen as a disappointment and ultimately was part of the decision to part with promotion-winners Coleman and Bell.
Doolan's task is simple, steer the club up the table, and he accepts the challenge.
"Pressure comes from within, you want to go and get a result," Doolan added.
"It's how you deal with it. You've got to go out and win a game.
"We've got 10, 11 games left so we've got to try to win as many of those games as possible."
Doolan, who was appointed on Monday, worked in both Everton and Liverpool academies in addition to stints with Wigan and Hibernian, working alongside figures such as Roberto Martinez, David Moyes and Karl Robinson.
His spell as a player saw him coach Stanley to success on the field and now has the reins following the exit of former colleagues.
"I know what it means to fans," Doolan added. "Because I'm a fan myself of the football club.
"I know what it means to go to the match and see your team win. Not just to the fans but the people outside that work around the building.
"It puts smiles on peoples faces if you can get a result, if you get a point, three points or through to a round of a cup, everyone goes home happy and that gives me satisfaction."
