Bayer Leverkusen maintained their 10-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga with victory against 10-man Wolfsburg.

The visitors faced an uphill task after they had Moritz Jenz sent off in the 28th minute following a second yellow card.

Leverkusen took the lead eight minutes later when ex-Southampton and Burnley forward Nathan Tella headed in.

Florian Wirtz collected Exequiel Palacios' pass to make it 2-0 four minutes from time.

The victory was a sixth in a row for Xabi Alonso's side.

They are top with 67 points, while defending champions Bayern Munich are second on 57 after Thomas Tuchel's team thrashed Mainz 05 8-1.
