Todd Kane and Ben Knight will both remain with Stockport for the rest of the season on separate deals

Stockport County have signed former QPR and Coventry defender Todd Kane on a deal until the end of the season, and made public the earlier loan of Manchester City forward Ben Knight.

Kane, 30, also lists Preston, Oxford, Blackburn, Bristol City, Groningen and Charlton among his former clubs.

He has played 283 first-team games during his career so far.

Knight, 21, joined City from Ipswich for a significant fee and has made one first-team appearance.

The Cambridge-born attacker has also had a loan stint with Crewe Alexandra to gain experience, but the club delayed the confirmation of the transfer while he regained fitness.

"Todd joins us for this important final run of games to support the first-team group with his experience and quality," director of football Simon Wilson said.

Wilson added: "Ben initially came to train with us in the summer, but unfortunately had a set-back very early in the training period which meant we couldn't get a full look at him.

"All parties agreed to re-look at things on his return and so, after he had worked very hard with City to rehabilitate, in January Ben came back in to train with us again."
