Norwich City defender Dimitris Giannoulis has been ruled out for at least the next six weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Greece international defender was missing from the Norwich side that beat Rotherham 5-0 last weekend.

"[Giannoulis] will take longer than we hope," said Canaries assistant coach Christoph Buhler.

"He will be out until the end of April, and miss the next few weeks, possibly back for the start of May.

The club are also hopeful that fellow defender Shane Duffy will return after the international break.

Duffy has been out with a muscle injury since early February.

Norwich, who visit Stoke City on Saturday, are currently sixth in the Championship with nine games to go.

"It's the crucial part of the season," Buhler said.

"In the Championship, so many teams play for something. There will be so many twists and turns, you must approach it game by game."
