Sekou Mara will miss Southampton's next three games after accepting a Football Association misconduct charge.

Southampton forward Sekou Mara has been handed a three-game ban by the FA after admitting a violent conduct charge.

The 21-year-old was involved in an off-the-ball altercation with Ryan Porteous in the closing stages of Saturday's 3-2 win against Watford, which was not seen by the officials at the time.

Mara subsequently accepted a charge of violent conduct and the three-match suspension which accompanies it.

He will miss matches against Preston on Tuesday, Cardiff and Leicester.

The France Under-21 international will be available for the final week of the season when promotion-chasing Saints host Stoke on Saturday, 27 April and visit Leeds on the final day a week later.

Mara, who has made 24 of his 32 appearances this season from the bench, has started only three Championship games all season and played 45 minutes across the last eight league matches.
