Newport County have signed former Queens Park Rangers striker Hamzad Kargbo after a successful trial.
The 6'4" centre forward is the Exiles' 13th summer recruit.
The 22-year-old has been on trial with Newport for much of the close season having featured in friendlies against Pontypridd United, Kidderminster Harriers, Bristol Rovers and Hereford.
"I'm very excited, as soon as I first came here I could feel it in my heart that it was a place I wanted to be and here I am," Kagbo told the club website.
“Obviously it’s never easy coming in as a trialist, but I could see from my first training session that everyone is like a family here which made it easier for me because I was welcomed straight away.
“It has given me the chance to focus on working hard throughout pre-season to show Nelson (Jardim, Newport head coach) what I can bring to the squad.”
Kargbo was on the books of QPR from the age of 12, joining from the Mass Elite Academy. He has been a regular in the Rangers' under-23s during the last two seasons.
He has also had loan spells at Vanarama National League sides Southend United and Oxford City.
Earlier this week Newport sold last season's top scorer Will Evans to League One side Mansfield Town.
Newport start their League Two campaign on Saturday away to Cheltenham Town.
