West Brom have signed defender George Campbell from Major League Soccer side CF Montreal for an undisclosed fee.

Campbell, 24, can play at right-back or centre-back and has signed a four-year deal at the Hawthorns.

He made his United States debut in January and has played 16 games this season for Montreal - and the deal is subject to international clearance.

"I'm really excited to be here. I honestly can't wait to put on the boots and start training," Campbell told the Albion website.

"When the chance to sign came, I wanted to take it and experience football in Europe. I'm ready to go.

"The biggest thing for me is to stay focused on the task ahead, which is to help the team win. Whatever challenges come on the journey, I'll be ready."

He joins fellow American Daryl Dike at The Hawthorns, the latter having joined Albion in January 2022.

The Baggies kick-off the new Championship season with a home game against Blackburn Rovers on 9 September.
