American consortium completes Leyton Orient takeover

Leyton Orient play at Brisbane Road but have ambitions to build a new stadium

American consortium GSG LOFC Limited has completed its takeover of Leyton Orient, the League One club have confirmed.
The consortium, which is fronted by New York-based businessman David Gandler, has completed a 100 per cent takeover from Eagle Investments 2017 Limited, the club's previous owner, with Gandler owning 78.55% as the majority shareholder.
In an official statement, the O's also confirmed that chairman Nigel Travis will continue to hold his position at the club.

"Our new investment will enable us to continue our on-pitch progression, whilst also pursuing other projects that will protect the long-term future of Leyton Orient.
"Our investment search was a considered and thorough process, which has lasted more than 14 months, and I am confident that David can help to drive Leyton Orient forwards.
"On a personal level, I am proud to be continuing as chairman. I will continue to be open and transparent with our loyal and dedicated supporters."
Orient reported a loss of £3.7m in their most recent accounts for 2023-34 despite posting record income of £7.7m.
The O's have been playing at Brisbane Road since 1937 but have been open about their plans to build a new stadium in the near future.
Gandler is the co-founder and CEO of live streaming service FuboTV. He previously owned a 17% stake in French club Paris FC, but sold it last year.
"It is an honour for me to join Leyton Orient. At the beginning of this process I quickly became inspired by the club's story and the fighting spirit that it has in it's DNA," Gandler said.
"I don't intend on being too hands on with the day-to-day running of the club. Nigel, CEO Mark Devlin and his staff have done an incredible job on the business side and I have full confidence in them to keep us progressing."
Orient, who currently occupy the last play-off spot in the League One table, take on Wycombe Wanderers in their final home fixture of the regular season on Saturday at 12:30 BST.
