Former Bala Town boss Colin Caton has been appointed as the new manager of Cymru North side Ruthin Town.

Caton, 55, left Bala in June after 22 years and 880 games in charge at Maes Tegid and guided the club to a first ever Welsh Cup in 2017.

The ex-Rhyl and Colwyn Bay defender succeeds Dave Evans, who left his role with the club in 13th spot in the Cymru North.

"His [Caton's] experience and record speak for themselves," Ruthin said in a statement.

"More importantly, he's a leader who embodies the ambition and values we hold as a club. We're confident he will make a big impact and inspire everyone involved."
