Cissoko aiming to impress during Argyle loan spell

Ibrahim Cissoko hopes his time on loan at Plymouth Argyle can help him develop his career.

The Netherlands Under-21 winger has agreed a season-long stay at the Championship club from French top-flight side Toulouse.

The 21-year-old is one of five new players to join the Pilgrims over the summer under new head coach Wayne Rooney.

"You see many players in the Championship doing good and then they go to the Premier League, so it's a really good place to develop," Cissoko said.

"I was at Toulouse, I didn't get so much play time there, I'm still a young player so it was important for me to play and to look forward.

"Argyle came and I spoke with the gaffer and the people there and I had a good feeling and I think I made the right choice."

Cissoko also feels that playing under England's former record goalscorer Rooney will also help his game come on as he prepares for his first taste of English football.

"He was also an attacker and I spoke with him and I thought it was perfect that he's my coach," he said.

"Week in, week out, day by day, I see we're getting better, we're getting more used to each other, so I think two more weeks and we'll be ready.

"For me he is the perfect coach because he lets me have the freedom to play, so that's what I need."
