Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance says his side did not deserve to win as they conceded in stoppage time to lose 3-2 at relegation rivals South Park.

Dan Moody's goal in the 99th minute condemned the islanders to a sixth successive defeat.

The loss sees third-from-bottom Guernsey five points from safety with a game in hand on their Isthmian League South Central rivals.

"We didn't deserve it, I think everyone can see that. I thought a draw was probably fair," Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey.

"We've conceded an awful lot of late goals, I think that was probably the latest in the 100th-odd minute.

"I'm not sure where all that time came from, but you've still got to play to the whistle and fair play to South Park, they pushed and got the goal."

The bulk of the action came in a frenetic 10-minute period midway through the first half as Jack Tucker gave the hosts the lead, only for Ross Allen to equalise from the penalty spot four minutes later before Charlton Gauvain put Guernsey 2-1 up after 31 minutes.

But within four minutes the scores were level again as George Vincent made it 2-2.

Gauvain, Allen and fellow attacker Sam Murray all had to come off as the second half wore on leaving Guernsey with few options going forward, and the pressure eventually told deep in added time.

"I thought we did very well under the circumstances," added Vance

"I think, ultimately, at the end of the game we didn't have Charlton on the pitch, we didn't have Sam Murray on the pitch, we didn't have Ross Allen on the pitch.

"Jacob (Fallaize) couldn't start because he was so ill, so those are four massive players for us.

"All the other players are playing to the level they can, to be honest, they're going to make mistakes because it's a tough league.

"But what you need is your trump cards in every game, or in moments, and we finished the game without those four, which was tough for us."

Vance added: "It's not the end of the world. I know all the knives will be out and everyone that hates Guernsey FC and wants to stick their foot in all the time, they'll think we're gone,

But I think we've got seven games left. I know we're not going to win all of them, but that's 21 points.

The last four seasons we've survived on the second to last game, so there's still a long way to go and we've got some target games in there.

"This was one of them, unfortunately we ran out of resources today, a draw would have been probably about right in all fairness, we didn't do enough to win the game, that's for sure, but it's not over."
