West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Mowbray says he has not had any discussions with John Swift over the midfielder's future.

Swift is out of contract at The Hawthorns at the end of the season and looks set to leave once his deal expires.

Mowbray confirmed getting new terms agreed with Swift, who has scored three excellent goals in his past seven games, has not been on the agenda.

"It's not something that me and John have talked about," Mowbray told BBC Radio WM.

"I want John to enjoy his football, he's a wonderful footballer.

"I don't know the answer [whether Swift will stay] but if John's not going to be here next year what's important for him is to perform well on the pitch and get as many suitors as he can.

"I like him, he's an experienced footballer and he understands the situation.

"Let's get to the end of the season and see what's happened. Then it's easier for people to make decisions on what's next."

Ahead of Saturday's home game against Hull City, Mowbray has again expressed his support for goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith following the 1-1 draw with Burnley.

Wildsmith's error saw the Clarets equalise as the Baggies saw two important play-off points slip away.

But Mowbray is sure the home fans will get right behind the 29-year-old on his first appearance at The Hawthorns since this weekend.

"I'm sure they will. I think anybody who supports a football team should support the players," Mowbray said.

"Joe's been magnificent I think since I've been here. I don't sit here and think about goal after goal going in and error after error - please put your hand up anyone who hasn't made a mistake.

"It's how you react to it and I'm confident [he will react well].

"He hasn't really done anything wrong in recent games and he's had some clean sheets so let's be supportive of him."
