Rotherham United have signed defender Tom Holmes from League One rivals Luton Town on a season-long loan.

The 25-year-old played 18 times in the Championship for Luton last season and made two further appearances for Belgian Pro League side Dender EH in a short-term loan move.

Rotherham have brought in Holmes as their 12th signing of the summer after being hit by injuries to several defenders in recent weeks.

Holmes came through the youth ranks at Reading and went on to make 129 senior appearances with the Berkshire club before his move to Luton.
