Mansfield sign Plymouth forward Waine on loan

Ben Waine began his playing career with New Zealand side Wellington before making the move to England

Mansfield Town have signed Plymouth Argyle forward Ben Waine on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old joined Argyle in December 2022 and has scored eight goals in his 48 appearances.

“We’re very pleased to get Ben on board. He wanted an opportunity to go on loan and play some games," Stags manager Nigel Clough said.

"He’s not had too many opportunities at Plymouth but we like what we’ve seen of him."

The New Zealand international has made two appearances for Plymouth this season, including scoring the opening goal in their 3-0 victory against Cheltenham in the Carabao Cup first round.
