Arteta cautious over Gabriel 'niggle'

Mikel Arteta has said that centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes missed the pre-season win over AC Milan with a "niggle" he picked up in training.
The 27-year-old underwent surgery and missed the final two months of the 2024-25 season with a hamstring injury and for that reason, Arteta does not want to take any risks with the defender.
"Gabby had a little niggle the other day in training," he explained. "Because of the fact that he has been out so long as well, we have to manage him.
"We have been in Spain - a different pitch, different conditions. We go to the UK, different ones - come here, again a lot of changes. We have to minimise the risk with him."
Arsenal have an open training session on Friday in Singapore before they play Newcastle United on Sunday before going to Hong Kong to play Tottenham Hotspur next Thursday.
