Burnley agree loan deal for Luis that could result in club record purchase

Burnley have reached a club-to-club agreement on a loan deal for Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis with conditional obligation to buy.
The Clarets club would pay an initial £1.73m with a further £20.8m due at a later date should the move for the 26-year-old be made permanent.
However, the deal is yet to be formally completed as negotiations remain ongoing with the player over personal terms, and the move is also subject to a medical.
Manager Scott Parker now has to wait to see whether Luis joins for what could eventually be a club record fee.
Luis is a former Portugal Under-21 international who has spent time on loan Monaco and Getafe before returning to play over 100 league games at Benfica.
