Wigan sign Exeter defender Aimson on two-year deal

Wigan Athletic have signed defender Will Aimson from fellow League One side Exeter City for an undisclosed fee.
The 30-year-old joins on a two-year contract with the Latics having spent last season with the Grecians.
Prior to his move to St James Park, Aimson had spells with Blackpool, Bury, Plymouth and Bolton Wanderers.
"There is a journey and a plan that is commencing here, and I want to be part of that," he told the club website, external.
"Looking around the place, and meeting all the boys and staff, I couldn’t be more excited."
Aimson has twice won promotion from League Two during his career, first with Blackpool through the play-offs in 2017 and then again with Bury in 2019 prior to the Shakers' expulsion from the English Football League.
He joins having made 43 appearances for Exeter last season, scoring five goals.
