Blackburn Rovers defender Scott Wharton will be out until the early weeks of 2026 after sustaining a significant injury in the win at Bristol City.
Centre-back Wharton, 28, tore his Achilles tendon at Ashton Gate earlier this month and missed Blackburn's defeat to Derby County on Saturday.
Goalkeeper Balazs Toth sustained a knee injury in the victory over Bristol City that will keep the Hungary international out for three months.
"This one is painful because Scott will be out for 10 weeks," head coach Valerien Ismael told the club's website., external
"It's painful for me, because Scott is a great player and a great human being who has worked so hard to get to that point.
"We will build him up and give him time to come back, because we will need everyone again when it comes to that final push."
Rovers are 19th in the Championship with a game in hand on all the teams around them and face a derby at Preston North End on Friday 21 November when the international break ends.
