Foxes fan anger understandable, says Stolarczyk

Leicester City goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk accepts the Foxes have to take fan unrest "on the chin" while they are underperforming so badly.

The team were given a hot reception by their own supporters after Saturday's 2-0 home loss to Blackburn Rovers with choruses of "You're not fit to wear the shirt" ringing around the King Power Stadium after Leicester's third defeat in a row.

Following their relegation from the Premier League last season, they prepare to host Middlesbrough on Tuesday night in 14th place in the Championship table.

In the circumstances, Stolarczyk feels the fan reaction is understandable.

"We hear the frustration of the fans, we all know this. They're entitled to do this," the Polish 'keeper told the club website.

"We're not hiding away from them, we have to take it on the chin and we have to do something about it.

"The good thing about the Championship is the fact you can turn things around really quickly, within the next few days.

"Our focus shifts on to the Middlesbrough game now and that's what we're going to look into and put 100% effort into.

"It's a bad run we're on now and we've got to use the Middlesbrough game to shift this whole momentum and get us on a good run."

The 24-year-old added: "We're not going to be hiding our frustration or the feeling of being angry after that game, or the previous games. We're just going to have to keep on working and staying together in all this."

Southampton, also relegated from the Premier League last season, parted company with head coach Will Still on Sunday, and the position of Leicester manager Martí Cifuentes is coming under scrutiny.

However, Stolarczyk argues that with more than two-thirds of the season to play, all is not lost for the Foxes.

"We can't allow those three games that we've had and that run of three bad results to set the tone for the rest of the season, because it's a long season," he said.

"We can still turn things around. We have to look into Middlesbrough now and put things right for it and get the three points."
