St Mirren have suspended defender Shaun Rooney for what the club describes as an "alleged incident in Glasgow city centre".

The Paisley club say the 28-year-old disclosed his involvement in the incident, the details of which have not yet been made public.

St Mirren added they are now investigating what happened and have suspended Rooney "on a precautionary basis".

The right-back has featured 10 times for the Scottish Premiership side this season, scoring one goal.
