Leyton Orient have entered into a period of exclusivity over takeover talks with a potential buyer.
Chairman Nigel Travis, who led a consortium to buy Orient in 2017, said in December there had been "significant interest", external in investing in the club, who currently occupy the last play-off spot in the League One table.

"The club can confirm that a period of exclusivity has been granted to a group to help progress discussions around acquiring a majority shareholding in Leyton Orient Football Club," the club said in a statement., external
"Both parties will continue working together during this process and, in the meantime, the football club will operate as normal.
"Fans are advised that this process can take time. The club would ask supporters to remain patient throughout the process and to continue providing outstanding support for Richie Wellens' squad."
Orient reported a loss of £3.7m in their most recent accounts for 2023-24 despite posting record income of £7.7m, with forecasts projecting that to grow further to just under £9m for this season.
In an accompanying statement, external, the club detailed how they "need to seek additional investment" and are "working through the process to identify suitable long-term partners who share the interests of the club and our community and could help take the club forward."
Orient visit Wrexham in their next League One fixture on Tuesday night.
