NI striker Bonis joins Chesterfield from Den Haag

Northern Ireland striker Lee Bonis has joined Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee from Dutch club Den Haag.

Bonis moved to the Netherlands last summer from Larne and scored 11 goals in 35 games as the club finished fourth in the Dutch second tier.

Having been a prolific scorer before that in the Irish Premiership, Bonis received an international call-up and he has won four caps under Michael O'Neill.

But the 25-year-old from Portadown can now prepare for life in the EFL.

He told his new club's website, external: "It's great to be a part of the club. I think a new start in England will be good for me."
