Watford's Dele-Bashiru moves to Turkey on loan

Tom Dele-Bashiru has left Watford on loan

Watford midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru has joined Turkish side Gençlerbirliği SK on a season-long loan.

Dele-Bashiru, 25, moves to the struggling Turkish Super Lig side after making two appearances this season and 81 in total during his six years with Watford.

The Manchester-born player came through at City and made his only appearance for Pep Guardiola's side as a substitute in a Carabao Cup win over Leicester in December 2017.

He joined Watford six years ago when his contract at City expired and his breakthrough campaign for the Hornets came in 2023-24 when he made 38 appearances.

Dele-Bashiru played for England Under-16s, but has since opted for Nigeria and has represented them at U20 and U23 levels.
