Reflections on first Gyokeres interview

The interview with Viktor Gyokeres took place at the Arsenal team hotel in Hong Kong.

There were supporters lined up on the driveway and also in the lobby hoping to meet some of their heroes.

I had been introduced to Gyokeres after his unveiling at the Newcastle match in Singapore and his stature is one of the first things you notice - he is an imposing figure.

It was noticeable again when he came into the room at the team hotel, the Arsenal wingers are going to have a good target to aim crosses at.

He was more reserved than I was expecting but given the history of the Arsenal number 14 shirt, in selecting it, he has shown he has the confidence to take on challenges.

That can only be a good sign for someone tasked with getting Arsenal over the line to win trophies.
