Luton Town midfielder Jordan Clark said they must sort out their shortcomings on the road quickly to have a chance of turning their season around.

The Hatters have taken four points from 10 games away from Kenilworth Road and been beaten seven times - the latest a 2-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

It has left them 19th in the Championship, five points above the relegation places but 12 adrift of where they want to be, in the top six.

"I feel sorry for the fans travelling all these miles all the time and we're not giving them any points or anything to cheer about," Clark told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"There are certain times in a game, I don't know if we switch off and aren't alert to their threat - obviously 2-0 down at half-time, it's a mountain to climb.

"Second half we were a lot better with the ball and played the majority of the game in their half. I didn't think we worked their keeper enough as well and that's disappointing... with the quality we've got it's not good enough."

Clark has played more than 150 games for Luton, 41 of them to help them win promotion to the Premier League two seasons ago.

But a repeat of that is a remote possibility unless they can start picking up more points on their travels.

"We know what we're going to get at home, that's the annoying thing - and that's the worrying thing. We've got a decent home record but coming away from home, I don't know what's wrong," the 31-year-old said.

"We've got to look at ourselves as a squad and sort it quickly because with half the season to go, there's a lot of points to get and obviously we don't want to be down at the bottom, we want to be pushing up."

Luton are next in action on Friday at home to Derby County, but will be away to Bristol City and Swansea City in their two games immediately after Christmas.

And they will be without midfielder Liam Walsh following his second red card of the season, for a challenge on Blackburn's Yuki Ohashi.

Walsh was also sent off in a 2-2 home draw against Oxford United at the start of October.

"Three games [suspended], then an injury, then missing three games again. It's hard for him because he's missing a lot of football and he can be such an important player because he's got a lot of quality," added Clark.

"He's not doing it on purpose but it's something he's got to brush up on because it can't keep happening, we're struggling for bodies as it is as well."
