Jersey Bulls continued their good recent form in Isthmian League South East as they won 2-0 at Hassocks.

Lorne Bickley had a fifth-minute goal for the islanders ruled out for offside before goalkeeper Euan van der Vliet pulled off a superb save and centre-back James Queree a subsequent goal line clearance to keep the score at 0-0.

But Bickley gave Bulls a 24th-minute lead as he latched on to a perfect through-ball from Fraser Barlow before sliding the ball through the goalkeeper's legs before Barlow had a goal disallowed for offside eight minutes later.

Within five minutes of the start of the second half Bickley got his second as he blasted in Rai Dos Santos' cross from the left.

The win means Bulls have lost just one of their last six games and are comfortably mid-table after their first 13 games in the eighth tier.

"It was good to string back-to-back wins together for the first time in step four," Jersey Bulls manager Elliot Powell told BBC Radio Jersey.

"It's really good to get back to good defensive ways. We defended really well, carried a threat on the counter and we were good value for the win.

"We carried much more of a threat than we did last week.

"We were disappointed with last week's performance despite the result and it was much more like us today"
