Wigan sign Blackpool midfielder Norburn on loan

Ollie Norburn joined Blackpool in 2023 and has made a total of 52 appearances in all competitions

Wigan Athletic have signed midfielder Ollie Norburn on loan from fellow League One side Blackpool.

The 32-year-old is the Latics' fifth signing of the January transfer window and joins having made 13 appearances for the Tangerines this season.

Having come through Leicester City's youth set-up, Norburn has gone on to appear for Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, Guiseley, Macclesfield, Tranmere Rovers, Shrewsbury Town and Peterborough United.

"The opportunity to come here is huge for myself and I want to get to the high levels of performance that I know I can. I am really happy to be here and I can't wait to get going," he told the club website.

"I have been captain at a few different clubs and I will hope to bring that experience and leadership to the group. It is a team full of talent and hopefully I can help bring out the best in them."
