Blackburn Rovers have signed French midfielder Moussa Baradji on loan from Swiss second division side Yverdon Sport and look set to sell captain Lewis Travis to Derby County.
Baradji, 24, arrives at Ewood Park for the season with the deal including an option to make the move permanent next summer.
Travis, 27, was left out of Blackburn's squad for Saturday's Championship match with Hull City and boss Valerien Ismael said in his pre-match press conference on Friday that "there is something going on behind the scenes" with the player.
BBC Sport understands Derby have agreed a fee with Blackburn for Travis, who has been with Rovers since signing his first professional contract eight years ago.
But Blackburn have moved quickly to replace him by landing Baradji on loan to complete their seventh summer signing.
The French-Malian follows the permanent arrivals of Dion De Neve, Sidnei Tavares, Ryan Alebiosu, Sean McLoughlin, Lewis Miller and Axel Henriksson.
