Jersey Bulls' title hopes are still in their own hands

Jersey Bulls kept their Combined Counties Premier South title challenge on track as they beat Camberley Town 2-1 at Springfield.

The islanders remain three points behind leaders Redhill with a game in hand.

Masimba Bare gave the visitors the lead inside 10 minutes before Kurtis Guthrie and Fraser Barlow went close for the Bulls.

Their pressure eventually told as top scorer Joe Kilshaw scored his third goal in four games to level the match seven minutes before half-time.

Experienced centre-back Luke Campbell added what proved to be the winner two minutes into the second half as he headed home a corner at the back post.

Lorne Bickley and James Carr went close to extending the lead as the game drew to a close.

Bulls have six games left - including back-to-back fixtures against Redhill early next month - as they aim to top the table and gain automatic promotion.

"It wasn't good enough today," manager Elliot Powell told BBC Radio Jersey.

"We needed to up it an awful lot, I thought we were really poor in the first 20 or 25 minutes, it's probably as bad as we've played at home.

"We've come out and we've got something out of the game, but make no mistake, if we play like that in the next four games against top opposition we're going to be struggling to get many wins.

"We've got to be better, we'll be back on the training ground working harder than ever as we got away with one today."
