Colchester sign defender Powell on loan from Forest

Josh Powell featured for Nottingham Forest in their pre-season friendly against Estoril last month

Colchester United have signed left-back Josh Powell from Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old is yet to make his competitive debut for the Forest first-team but appeared during the club's pre-season tour of Portugal last month.

He has made 92 appearances in the club's youth academy sides, scoring 10 times, and was part of the squad which won the Premier League International Cup last season.

"I'm really excited. When I first heard about the opportunity to come here, it was something I was definitely interested in," Powell told Colchester's club website.
