Hull City to investigate alleged Coyle video

Hull City have launched an investigation into a video allegedly showing captain Lewie Coyle in an "incident" in the city centre.

The video, which was shared on social media, was taken on Sunday.

Coyle's older brother, former professional boxer, Tommy, 35, released a statement on Tuesday to say that he had been the victim of a "vicious unprovoked attack early on Sunday evening"., external

Full-back Coyle, 29, made 46 appearances in all competitions this season and played 90 minutes as the Tigers avoided relegation to League One with a 1-1 draw at Portsmouth on the final day of the campaign on Saturday.

The club said in a statement they would "refrain from making any further comment until the investigation has been concluded".

Coyle started his career with Leeds United and has played 308 times in the Football League.

His younger brother Rocco, 18, who has come through the Tigers academy but is yet to feature for the first team, is also understood to be in the video.

Tommy Coyle won 25 of his 30 fights as a professional boxer at lightweight and light-welterweight.
