Experienced central defender Kyle McFadzean has joined Chesterfield from Championship side Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season.

The 37-year-old has found playing opportunities increasingly limited at Ewood Park but said he hoped to add some muscle to the Spireites' League Two promotion push between now and May.

"I'm delighted to get it over the line now and I can't wait to get started to be honest," the defender told the club website, external.

"The main thing is to come here and try and help the lads do what they want to do and that's to get promoted. That's a big thing for me."

McFadzean began his career with Sheffield United and has played for Alfreton Town, Crawley Town, MK Dons, Burton Albion, Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers, amassing over 600 appearances.
