Blackpool's Morgan diagnosed with diabetes

Blackpool midfielder Albie Morgan has been diagnosed with type one diabetes, the League One club have said.

The 24-year-old found out after undergoing a number of tests in recent days, the club added.

Morgan, who has made eight of his 53 appearances for Blackpool this season, is currently working to "make adaptations to his daily life to be in a position to return to training in the near future."

“It’s been a really tough few days for me and my family, but I’m pleased to say that I am now comfortable and learning to live with this news.

“I am now fully focused on working harder than ever to come back strong and healthy, to be in a position to return to training and represent the club again in the near future.”

Morgan most recently played in their 5-1 defeat by Peterborough on 22 October.

Blackpool are 16th in League One having won four of their 13 games so far this season.
